Bestiary - Wald Root

A documentation of the beasts and creatures known to inhabit the Whytingwald. I have only included those creatures that can be verifiably known to be true, as I’ve seen these beings, or at least, evidence of these beings for myself. ~ The Venerable Bart of Bohommon, High Scholar & Indisputable Documentarian of the Entire World.

Wald Root
My traveling companions insist I include this plant in the bestiary. They appear to grow out of the trunks or branches of other, larger trees. They appear to lay still for long periods of time, and then snap at birds or rodents as they pass by, occasionally catching them. The locals are adamant that they can grow to be quite large and snatch up men whole. We observed no such thing, and the largest of them that we came across could barely be compared to the size of a house cat.
